The third annual Marple Santa Dash took place on December 4th 2011. The runners braved the weather to support the Find a Cure for Martha Appeal .

Romiley and Marple Lions Club - Handover Dinner

A handover dinner took place recently at Romiley Golf Club when Lion President Keith Royle handed over the chain of office to Lion Pat Brady. Everyone present wished Lion Pat the best of luck for the forthcoming year. Lion Pat's nominated charity for 2011-2012 is Stockport Portage a borough wide education and support service for pre-school children with additional needs/disabilities and their families.

Lion Pat presented Lion Keith with a commemorative photograph/newspaper clipping book as well as a specialist ornithology book signed by club members as a thank you and to commemorate his successful year.

Another presentation took place during the evening when Lion Mike Evanson was presented with a Melvyn Jones Fellowship - the highest award for Lions in honour of Lion Mike's sterling work over a number of years.
